Photograph of Nigel PowellNigel Powell is an independent agricultural advisor and has delivered technical and business advice to arable and livestock farmers since 1979. He is BASIS, BASIS ICM, BASIS Soil and Water, BETA and FACTS qualified. He currently advises farmers on business matters and has recently worked on both the Farm Business Advice Services in England. Nigel also provides full agronomic advice on a range of crops, including grassland and maize to farmer clients. Under the recently announced new Nitrate Vulnerable Zones, he is able to advise on the new rules and complete the range of Nutrient, Soil and Manure management plans, which will be part of the new scheme. Nigel is currently supplying agronomy advice to the Welsh Government on various environmental schemes throughout Wales.

Photograph of Ian OliverIan Oliver is an independent agricultural consultant with 25 years experience. He is BASIS, BASIS ICM, BASIS Soil and Water Management, BETA and FACTS qualified and is a member of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants. He is an independent agricultural consultant and gives advice on BIAC Logobusiness management, agronomy, the Single Payment Scheme, environmental schemes, share farming agreements, FBT’s and farm tenders. Four years ago, Ian worked on delivering advice to farmers as part of the DEFRA funded Catchment Sensitive Farming initiative in England. He continues to maintain a portfolio of fee-paying clients for which he provides an agronomy service and an agrochemical, seeds and fertiliser buying group. Ian is a specialist on the production of high value potatoes.
