Powell & Oliver Ltd is a group of independent farming consultants based in Herefordshire. They have been established for 35 years. Most of the work area is based around the counties of Herefordshire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and Powys.

The advisors at Powell & Oliver Ltd provide and deliver a broad range of skills and advice to farming and land-based industries. These skills incorporate agronomy advice on a range of crops including cereals, break-crops, potatoes, grassland and maize; farm business advice, with particular emphasis on mixed farming units and assistance with rent reviews and single payment scheme applications; environmental work which covers farm based environmental schemes in England and Wales and Nitrate Vulnerable Zones; plus expert witness work relating to agriculture. Full farm management and crop marketing is also carried out for several farms.

Clients are predominantly farm businesses and estates. However, detailed reports and presentations are also delivered to “DEFRA”, Welsh Government (including funded farm business advice), National Farmers Union and Environment Agency. Powell and Oliver are both Full Members of the Association of Independent Crop Consultants.
